Irina is a clinical neuropsychologist and neuroimager and co-founder of DU4U. Irina was born in Kiev, Ukraine and immigrated to US as a teen.
Irina’s research focuses on identifying brain biomarkers of mood and trauma disorders, and associated suicidality. When the Ukrainian-Russian war started, Irina was initially involved in aiding with medical needs and advocacy for aid and justice.
Unfortunately, it soon became apparent the mental health crisis that the Russian invasion caused (rapes, abductions, loss, displacement) and she has significant involvement in sourcing trauma training and supervision for Ukrainian Psychologists, as well as treatment for the many victims. As an example, she helped establish a project to aid with mental and social needs of 500 IDPs in Truskavec and is currently working to source additional aid.
