Dr. Altice is a professor of medicine, epidemiology and public health at Yale University.
He has been providing services and conducting research in Ukraine since 2005. His work has involved introducing and scaling up effective HIV prevention and treatment, including medication treatments for opioid use disorder in addiction treatment clinics, primary care clinics, and prisons and he his published research with Ukrainian colleagues has help guide healthcare policy reform. Dr. Altice, in collaboration with Dr. Dvoriak at the Ukrainian Institute on Public Health Policy, directs a research training site for US and Ukrainian scholars through the Fogarty-funded Global Health Scholars Program at Yale.
Dr. Altice’s research focus has been on implementation of evidence-based interventions, especially focused on prevention and treatment of infectious diseases like HIV, viral hepatitis and tuberculosis.
