Dr. Zinchuk is an ICU doctor, a sleep medicine researcher at Yale, and a founding member of DU4U. He has a deeply personal connection to Ukraine, its physicians, and scientists.
In 1992 he immigrated to the U.S. from Lviv, Ukraine, where some of his family remains today. He has established collaborations with ICU doctors in major military hospitals in Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Lviv. He focuses on precision aid of vital critical care equipment (e.g., ventilators), supplies (e.g., intravenous fluids), and training (e.g., artificial kidney machine use) to ICU physicians. During the DU4U visit to Ukraine in June 2022, he helped establish a program to improve the heart health of vulnerable elderly in Lviv.
